You must be 18 or older

The Next Hero only accepts story submissions from people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect video, contact details or any other personal information from minors, and submissions that appear to come from someone under 18 are rejected and deleted.

Don't make a child the subject of your videos unless you are their parent or legal guardian and you're comfortable with them appearing publicly. If you believe a minor's information has been submitted, contact us and we'll remove it.

Media release

When you submit, you grant Pace Morby and the Zero to Hero / The Next Hero team a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit, excerpt and distribute your videos, name, likeness, voice and story in the Zero to Hero book, on TheNextHero.com, and across social media, podcasts, video content and related marketing.

You keep ownership of your own story and footage — this is a licence to use it, not a transfer of ownership. You confirm the content is yours to share, that anyone else appearing in it has agreed, and that no third-party music, footage or images are included without permission.

No payment is made for submissions or for the uses described above.

Every video is reviewed before it appears

Nothing is published until a member of the review team has watched and approved each individual video. We reject content that is hateful, harassing, violent, sexually explicit, exploitative, deceptive, or that exposes someone else's private information.

We may remove or hide any story at any time, with or without notice, including while a report is being investigated.

Community backing

Anyone can back stories. We limit how often one person can back the same story and apply anti-abuse checks. Attempting to manipulate results — bots, scripts, duplicate accounts, paid votes — will get a story disqualified.

Community support is one signal among several. It puts a story on Pace's radar; the final decision belongs to Pace and the team.

No guarantee of any outcome

Sharing a story is not a guarantee of selection, funding, publicity, mentorship, or any other outcome. Please don't submit expecting financial help. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, medical or investment advice.

Withdrawing your story

You can ask us to take your story down at any time by replying to the email we send after you submit. We'll remove it from the site and delete the video files. Material already printed or distributed before your request — for example copies of the book already published — can't be recalled.

Consent record

The current consent version is 2026-08-25.v1. When you submit, we store the exact wording you agreed to, the time you agreed, and a non-reversible fingerprint of your network address and browser, so both you and we have a clear record of what was agreed.
